Taylor Ezra Ward

Written by Whitney Bascom

When I came into the world, Taylor was just 3 days shy of his 8th birthday, and, as I've seen from family home videos, was quite jealous of the attention that I, the newborn, received at his birthday party. My first real memory of him was his 12th birthday, when I was 4 and he was getting a new big bike. Taylor always loved to draw, especially in his younger years. I still have several pieces of art he has done in the past, including a painting that hangs in my kitchen today. In high school he had a variety of jobs including Papa Murphy's and the "Grange" country store. After high school, he joined the military in a peaceful time in our nation's history...Summer 2001. He was shipped off to Afghanistan in October of that year where he learned some very valuable life lessons. After 3 years in the army, he came home to pursue a university degree and graduated in 2008 from the University of Washington with a Degree in Neurobiology, has recently taken the MCATs, and will soon commence his search for acceptance into a medical school.

As the oldest Rick Ward child, Taylor is the smartest person I know and is hard working and determined, which has contributed to his success in life thus far. Taylor has a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor and a laugh that makes you want to think of something witty to say just to hear it. He is very generous and thoughtful of others. He will love to talk to you if he can find a common interest and in such circumstances it may be difficult to get him to stop talking.

Now a mature 28 year old, Taylor is living in the beautiful San Diego, California, sending me photos of his sunny trips to Disneyland while its snowing in Provo, and spending his days on the beach or working for a medical equipment company that allows him to travel home to Seattle frequently.
